Der Überflieger
Research, interface archeology, wearables for animals.
“Der Ueberflieger – Wearable Interfaces for spy pigeons” is an experimental mediaart project that combines the dead medium of the homing pigeon with modern technologies such as GPS and digital photography. It allows the user to follow the flightpath of a pigeon from its place of release back to the loft. This website documents the wearable design process and the technical implementation. The test flights were done in the area of Graz, Austria. A detailed documentation is available on DVD and also on a poster.
